Commuting Results Page

1. Purpose

The Commuting Results page provides a detailed overview of the environmental impact associated with your employees' commuting habits. It presents a breakdown of your commuting impact, allows you to track your progress over time, and compare your performance against industry and association benchmarks.

2. Key Features

  • Share of transport methods in distance (km): A bar chart at the top illustrates the total distance traveled using each mode of transport for the selected year. This helps you visualize the popularity of different commuting methods among your employees.
  • Carbon Footprint: A bar chart below the first one shows the carbon footprint associated with each mode of transport, measured in kilograms of CO2 equivalent (kg CO2-eq). This helps you identify which modes contribute the most to your overall commuting impact.
  • Impact per Month (if applicable): If you selected a specific month in the options at the top of the page, this section will display a bar chart showing the commuting impact for that month, broken down by different modes of transport.
  • Benchmark Comparisons: The page includes benchmark comparisons to show how your commuting impact per square meter and per euro sold compares to industry averages and association averages (if applicable).
  • Variance: This section displays the percentage difference between your company's impact and the industry or association average. A red percentage indicates that your impact is higher than the average, suggesting room for improvement. A green percentage indicates that your impact is lower than the average, highlighting good performance.
  • Interactive Elements: You can hover over the bars in the charts to view detailed information about specific transport modes and the amount of kilometers or their impact, in each graph respectively.

3. Understanding the Charts

  • Share of transport methods in distance (km) chart: Each bar in the chart represents a year, and the length of the bar indicates the total distance traveled using all modes of transport distinguished by the different colors.
  • Carbon Footprint chart: Each bar in the chart represents a year, and the height of the bar indicates the associated carbon footprint in kg CO2-eq for all modes of transport used.
  • Impact per Month chart (if applicable): Each bar in the chart represents a year, and the height of the bar indicates the commuting impact for that specific month.
  • Benchmark Graphs: The benchmark graphs use bar charts to visually compare your impact per square meter and impact per euro sold against industry and association averages. This helps you see where you stand in relation to your peers.

4. Using the Page

  • Select Year: Use the menu at the top to select the year for which you want to view commuting results.
  • Analyze the Charts: Review the charts to understand the share of transport methods, carbon footprint by mode, impact per month (if applicable), and benchmark comparisons.
  • Identify Areas for Improvement: Based on the insights gained from the page, identify opportunities to reduce your commuting impact, such as promoting sustainable transport modes (e.g., cycling, public transport), encouraging carpooling, or supporting remote work options.
