Deliveries

1. Purpose

The "Deliveries" form helps you calculate the environmental impact associated with the transportation of goods and materials from your company to your customers. This includes deliveries made using your own vehicles and those made through external courier services.

2. Entering Your Delivery Data

  • Scope: Choose whether you want to calculate the impact for the calendar year or a specific month.
  • Year: Select the year for which you want to calculate the delivery impact.
  • Month (if applicable): If you chose "Month" in the "Scope" field, select the specific month.
  • How do you make deliveries?
    • Select "Own vehicles" if you use your company's vehicles for deliveries.
    • Select "Courier" if you use an external courier service.

3. Own Vehicles Deliveries (if applicable)

If you selected "Own vehicles," provide details about the modes of transport used and the distances travelled for deliveries:

  • Modes of transport and distance:
    • Click "+ Add New" to add a row for each mode of transport used.
    • Select the mode of transport from the dropdown list (e.g., Van, Truck, Car).
    • Enter the total distance travelled in kilometers (km) for that mode of transport.

4. Courier Deliveries (if applicable)

If you selected "Courier," provide the following information:

  • Amount of deliveries through courier: Enter the total number of deliveries made via the courier service.

5. How the Calculation Works

The tool uses the entered data about modes of transport, distances, and number of deliveries, along with emission factors associated with each mode of transport and delivery method, to calculate the total CO2 emissions related to deliveries. This impact is calculated in kilograms of CO2 equivalent (kg CO2-eq).

6. Understanding the Results

  • Impact (kg CO2-eq): This column displays the calculated environmental impact for each mode of transport and delivery method in kilograms of CO2 equivalent.
  • Impact share (%): This column shows the percentage contribution of each transport mode and delivery method to the total delivery impact.

7. What Happens Next?

Once you've entered all the necessary data, click "Submit." The tool will automatically calculate the total impact of deliveries and display it on the right side of the form. This data will be incorporated into your overall environmental footprint report, accessible through the "Results Dashboard." You can then use this information to identify areas for improvement, such as optimizing delivery routes, utilizing more fuel-efficient vehicles, or consolidating deliveries to reduce transport frequency.
